Speech-language therapy is typically a 60-minute session to address any of the areas identified as being delayed/deficit. Speech and language therapy, which is sometimes referred to as speech therapy and/or language therapy (depending upon therapy focus) is therapy that helps children and adults who struggle in any of the following areas: speech, articulation, phonology, apraxia, fluency, communication, pragmatic, language skills that are identified as delayed per the speech-language evaluation. Therapy addressing speech and language development is provided by a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) or a licensed speech-language pathology assistant under the supervision of an SLP.
