Service Description

Speech-language screening consists of approximately a 30-minute informal investigation of the presence or absence of age-appropriate skills in the areas of speech, articulation, phonology, fluency, communication, pragmatic, language. The screening informally checks skills such as the production of speech sounds, use of phonological process, rate of speech production, interactive play, social skills, and receptive/expressive language skills as well as reading and writing abilities, if appropriate for your child’s age. Screenings are conducted by a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) or a licensed speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) under the supervision of an SLP. Screening results will reveal the need for a full speech-language evaluation.
