Promoting Language And You

Group

Group sessions address language and pragmatic skills such as using greetings, making friends, engaging in communication exchange, using and understanding body language, and maintaining eye contact, as well as language development. The difference between group and individual therapy is that group therapy allows children that may not have difficulty interacting with familiar people, but display breakdowns when interacting with unfamiliar people the opportunity to develop social skills. Many kids who benefit from social-language groups are high functioning, demonstrate normal language development, but simply need social-language skills training. This group session will address real life situations. and is beneficial for typical developing kids as well as kids on Autism/Asperger’s spectrum.
